The project was commissioned by DECODE to document a DA approved mixed use project in Chatswood, the project is situated in a prime location of Pacific highway consisting of 2 residential towers on a commercial podium. The project provides 72 apartments tailored to a high-end market.Throughout the early stages of design development we identified elements of value engineering on the project providing a lighter simplified structural system, reduction in excavation and rationalised services. 3D BIM coordination was used on the project ensuring a high level of coordination amongst all building services, this allowed opportunities for space saving where additional floor area was gained. Through a rationalised services design and distinguished space planning we were able to increase commercial Net Lettable Area by a total of 160 square meters.
Design workshops were held with the DECODE to focus on continually improving the building design from coordination and item resolution to apartment layouts and detail design ensuring the delivery of a polished, efficient and high-quality product.
